BLOWDOWN ACCESSORIES

Additional Accessories

Optional Solenoid Valve and Aquastat replaces Self Activation valve shown with sampling accessories.

Accessories reduce drain water temperature with in state and local requirements.Valving arrangement automatically provides right amount of cold water each time boiler is blown down.

Electric Solenoid Valve and Aquastat

For automatic electric control of the cooling water to the aftercooler. They are a 2 way general purpose solenoid valve 110V of piloted diaphragm construction. Valve body is a brass material with buna N Seats. A hot water control is provided with each valve to control the action of the valve to control the action of the valve based on the set temperature.

Hot Water Control

These controls have close-on-rise switch action and are designed for use on hot water heating installations. They prevent operation of the circulator or unit heater fan if the boiler water is not hot enough for proper heating. Models are available with either horizontal or vertical well. Some models also have excess capillary stored within the enclosure, permitting them to be used with wells having either a standard or extended shank.

The Sampler
(For Taking Boiler Water Samples)

Cools boiler samples under pressure to make chemical and dissolved solids tests. When boiler samples are taken without being cooled under pressure as much as 20% of the sample can flash into steam leaving greater concentrations of solids in the sample. The Penn Sample Cooler is designed to cool samples under pressure so that accurate sampling can be made.

Boiler-Matic 3000

The Boiler-Matic 3000 conductivity controller samples Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) on a intermittent basis. Sample period and duration timers open the blowdown valve allowing a sample of the boiler water to pass by the conductivity probe. If the conductivity is lower than the desired level, the valve will close at the end of the sample duration. If the conductivity of the boiler water is higher than the controller set point, the blowdown valve will remain open until the desired conductivity level is reached. The periodic sampling schedule will repeat to maintain the desired TDS level.
